Walmart has announced that starting next year they will be allowing their members to activate their card online. The only problem with this is that the person who applies for the card needs to have a computer, internet access and a photo ID. It seems that Walmart is trying to increase the number of people that are going to apply for cards and thus increasing the amount of money they will be able to collect on their credit cards. The question I have is whether this can really help Walmart in the long run and if there is any type of disadvantage for the customers in this process.
An answer to the question
I don’t think that there is anything wrong with having people apply for a card through Walmart, because they do know what it takes to secure the credit card information of their customers. In addition, they have a good relationship with the card companies and their credit companies like Visa and MasterCard. In some cases, the cards can be approved by the customer just by presenting their ID card. This means that if someone knows how to go about getting a card through Walmart, then they can actually have a little bit more security than if they were to go to an actual Wal-Mart store. Of course, there is a small disadvantage as well, as there is no chance that a customer can use their card online if they don’t have internet access. This means that they will be at the mercy of the person who gives them the credit card.
I think that it is important to remember that being able to have a card online is a great thing for the customer. This allows people to take their money and make purchases in Wal-Mart the same way they would in their local store. It is also nice to be able to take all of your items with you when you go shopping at the store. Of course, it depends on which Walmart card you apply for and whether or not you get any discounts on your purchases or not, but I think that you can see why I think that this is something that is very positive for the future of Wal-Mart.
